Appendix B: Essential MCP List

Playwright (Browser Automation)

What it does: Gives Claude a browser. Navigate pages, take screenshots, click buttons, fill forms, scrape content.

In your terminal:

claude mcp add playwright -- npx -y @playwright/mcp@latest

Excalidraw (Diagrams)

What it does: Create hand-drawn-style diagrams — flowcharts, architecture diagrams, mind maps.

In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http excalidraw https://mcp.excalidraw.com/mcp

Claude-in-Chrome (Browser Extension)

What it does: Interact with your actual Chrome browser, including authenticated pages. Read content, click elements, fill forms on pages where you are logged in.

In Chrome: Install the Claude-in-Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store. Then either launch with claude --chrome, or run /chrome inside an existing session to connect, check status, and manage permissions.

Granola (Meeting Notes)

What it does: Access your Granola meeting transcripts and notes from Claude Code.

In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http granola https://mcp.granola.ai/mcp

MoSPI Stats (Indian Government Data)

What it does: Pull data from India’s Ministry of Statistics — CPI, IIP, ASI, NAS, WPI, PLFS, Energy statistics.

In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http mospi-stats https://mcp.mospi.gov.in/

Context7 (Documentation Lookup)

What it does: Access up-to-date documentation for any programming library or framework. Automatically included with the context7 plugin.

Kite (Zerodha Stock Trading and Portfolio)

What it does: Connect to your Zerodha Kite account. Fetch holdings, positions, margins, live prices, historical data, search instruments, place and manage orders. Built and hosted by Zerodha — no API keys or local setup needed.

In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http kite https://mcp.kite.trade/mcp

Google Search Console (Indexing and Search Performance)

What it does: Connects Claude Code to Google Search Console. Check whether pages are indexed, submit sitemaps, and query search performance data — all from the terminal. Pairs with the SEO section in Chapter 5.

Note: Needs Google credentials (a service account or OAuth) the first time you run it — Claude walks you through the setup.

In your terminal:

claude mcp add gsc -- uvx mcp-search-console

These MCP servers are popular across the Claude Code community. They are not part of my personal workflow but are widely used and well-maintained.

Figma (Design-to-Code)

What it does: Reads live Figma design files — hierarchy, auto-layout, variants, text styles, design tokens. Claude generates code that matches your designs precisely.

Recommended — install as a plugin. Inside Claude Code:

/plugin install figma@claude-plugins-official
/reload-plugins

The plugin bundles this same MCP server with Figma’s design skills.

Or, MCP only. In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http figma-remote https://mcp.figma.com/mcp

Notion (Knowledge Base)

What it does: Read and write Notion pages, databases, and docs. Pull context from Notion into Claude conversations.

Recommended — install as a plugin. Inside Claude Code:

/plugin install notion@claude-plugins-official
/reload-plugins

The plugin bundles this same MCP server with Notion’s skills and slash commands.

Or, MCP only. In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http notion https://mcp.notion.com/mcp

Slack (Team Communication)

What it does: Draft messages, summarize channels, search conversation history, compose responses in Slack.

Note: Connecting requires Slack workspace admin OAuth. If you are not a workspace admin, ask yours to complete the install flow, or use the Claude-in-Chrome extension as an alternative for reading Slack content.

Recommended — install as a plugin. Inside Claude Code:

/plugin install slack@claude-plugins-official
/reload-plugins

The plugin bundles this same MCP server with Slack’s developer skills.

Or, MCP only. In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http slack https://mcp.slack.com/mcp

GitHub (Repository Management)

What it does: Full GitHub integration — issues, PRs, commits, branches, CI/CD pipelines, code review.

Recommended — install as a plugin. Inside Claude Code:

/plugin install github@claude-plugins-official
/reload-plugins

The plugin sets up this same MCP server in one command.

Or, MCP only. In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http github https://api.githubcopilot.com/mcp/

gogcli (Google Workspace — All Services)

What it does: Access Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, and more through a single CLI tool. Replaces the need for separate Google-specific MCPs.

In your terminal:

brew install gogcli
gog auth login

Zapier (Cross-Platform Automation)

What it does: Connect to thousands of apps — Gmail, Sheets, CRM tools, task managers. Trigger multi-step automations across platforms.

Note: Zapier MCP is per-user — you must first visit https://mcp.zapier.com, configure your personal server (choose which Zapier actions to expose), and copy your unique MCP URL. Then run the command below, substituting <YOUR-PERSONAL-ZAPIER-MCP-URL> with your copied URL.

In your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http zapier <YOUR-PERSONAL-ZAPIER-MCP-URL>
